How does CEREC work?

CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology and software to complete restorations from start to finish. First, patients are prepared for their restoration. This often requires the removal of a thin portion of the natural tooth enamel. Once this has been done, digital impressions are done and transferred to our CEREC computer software. The dentist can make any changes through the software program, and then mill the new restoration out of a block of porcelain that matches the patient’s current smile. Once the restoration is complete, the dentist can then place the restoration over the natural tooth and complete the process—all in one visit! This makes most dental procedures fast and simple with such advanced technology available!
